I have started a new blog to announce some very exciting news! It has been about a year and a half now since I returned to the US from Poland. Many of you (including me) were wondering when and where my next adventure would occur. Well, after lots of prayer and wise counsel, God has led me to Bucharest Christian Academy in Bucharest, Romania, where I have been offered a position as an ESL teacher.
I couldn't be more excited about teaching at Bucharest Christian Academy. It's an international school that serves missionary, business, and diplomatic families in the capital city of Romania. I have been to Romania several times, and loved it each time. I can't wait to tell you what living there is like.
| My first trip to Romania at the police station. No, I wasn't in trouble. I just wanted a picture with the flag. I left before the policeman in the background could catch me. |
School starts at the end of August, so I don't have a whole lot of time left in Iowa. I can't wait to go, but it is a little bit overwhelming sometimes when I think of my 'Moving to Romania' to-do list.
- Move out of my apartment
- Buy plane tickets
- Pack up all my things
- Find housing in Bucharest
- Raise finances
- Learn some Romanian
- Start my first year teaching
Since Bucharest Christian academy is mainly a missions school, I do have to raise funds to cover my expenses while I am in Romania. If you are interested in contributing, you can give online at www.abwe.org/give or you can send a check or cash to the ABWE address from the website with my account number 0190571.
I appreciate your support and interest as I begin this new adventure. I will be sure to keep you updated on how things progress and on all the new things I learn in Romania.
